Poem: To Love and Be Loved in Return

To Love and Be Loved In Return

The greatest thing
One could ever learn
Is to love
And be loved in return

For in sorrow
One will never learn
The great joys of love
The pangs of great loneliness

In love
One will always see
The sun shining its brightest
The moon above in its loveliest

In solitude
One will never see
The rays of glorious sunshine
The feel and air of romance

In love
One will always feel
The pleasure of living
The simple things that makes one smile

In solitude
One will never feel
The comfort of yonder company
The warmth of intimacy pure

For in sorrow
One will never learn
The great joys of love
The pangs of great loneliness

In solitude
One will always see
The darkness of sole corners
The coldness of clear waters

In love
One will never see
The empty promises of lovers
The choking strains of relationships

In solitude
One will always see
The bitter part of humanity
The irrationality of hope

In love
One will never see
The wretchedness of cold hearts
The sweetness of parting

For in sorrow
One will never learn
The great joys of love
The pangs of great loneliness

The greatest thing
One could ever learn
Is to love
And be loved in return
